The BCCI gave Sunil Narine a clean chit and will play IPL this season for Kolkata Knight Riders Narine had taken a retest at Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai last Thursday where he was put through various tests by the panel headed by former Indian fast bowler Javagal Srinath.
"It is a matter of genuine relief. We are very thankful to the BCCI president, secretary and other board officials for bringing the matter reach the appropriate conclusion," said a relieved Venky Mysore, CEO and MD of Kolkata Knight Riders, who tweeted on Twitter. "I am happy that we will witness Sunil Narine in action in the Pepsi IPL 8 , since he is now cleared by the BCCI committee. We look forward to the opening match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians on the 8th of April in Kolkata, which promises to provide an exciting start to the tournament" said Mr. Anurag Thakur, Secretary of BCCI. The West Indies spinner was first called for a suspect action last October during the Champions League T20. Subsequently he was asked by the BCCI to get it tested at any of the ICC-accredited centres. Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders are scheduled to play the IPL opener against Mumbai Indians on April 8, 2015.
